Student counseling at Breiðagerðisskóli

Student counselors advocate for students, protect their welfare and seek solutions to their issues. Student counselors are bound by confidentiality regarding students' private matters, except as required by Act No. 80/2002 on Child Protection. All students and parents can seek help from student counselors

Students and parents can seek advice from the student counselor on various matters. The student counselor’s work involves all aspects of student welfare and well-being, both inside and outside of school.

  • Educational – teaching study and memory strategies, and fostering connections with other educational levels.
  • Developmental – enhancing students’ understanding of their own situation and educational opportunities. Strengthening students’ decision-making and goal-setting skills. Guiding students toward personal responsibility.
